Well, the shoe is designed for fast long distance runs, and as long as the fit was right, I knew it would be a great shoe to run in. Fortunately, whatever pre-production issues Hoka had with the Carbon X earlier this summer (Hoka reps were telling everyone to size up) have been resolved. And the shoe is fantastic to run in. At no point is any of the design or technology intrusive or overly assertive. Instead, what you have is a shoe that lets you run in the way that your body wants to run, while providing cushion and speed to eat up the miles. I can't wait to put in a bunch of miles on this shoe.
disclosures: this is a pair fo shoes that I purchased with my own money. No one is paying me to review the shoe or wear the shoe, and no one will have any editorial input before the video goes up on YouTube.

The charity runner of the week is Justin Gingerich, who is running the New York City Marathon and raising money for Muscular Dystrophy Association. I've donated $70 to his fundraising efforts and hope you'll consider joining me.
