Mexican reporter attacked several times live on air during march against gender violence Journalist Juan Manuel Jimenez was attacked in Mexico City as he reported on the ‘glitter protest’. Women shouted at him and threw glitter into his face. Another woman yelled: “Yo si te creo” meaning “I believe you,” mocking the media.

Jimenez was then punched in the face by a man in a blue baseball cap, knocking him unconscious. Following the attack, the reporter tweeted: “Violence will always be unacceptable.”

The protests began after two teenage girls accused police officers of rape. Marchers also doused the city’s police chief in pink glitter.
