Darcey chose to leave the hit BBC show after eight years, and German dancer Motis Mabuse has come on board as her replacement. But now Bruno has shared that behind the scenes, her departure came out of the blue to the others. ‘I was in total shock,’ he said. ‘When she texted me I didn’t put two and two together. I wasn’t expecting her to leave. She told me she just needed to get out.’ However, the dancing judge, who was back on screens on Saturday for the 2019 season, teased that you never know what may happen and that she could potentially be back in the future: ‘I say the door is always open.’ Motsi Mabuse was hired to replace Darcey, and the German dancer made her Strictly Come Dancing debut serving some absolutely fiery looks as she came dressed as an actual Glitter Ball.
