I am sharing recipe of this khasta mawa gujiya for the occasion of Teej festival. Teej festival is celebrated in Bihar and neighbouring states. Mawa gujiya is essentially made in every household on the occasion of teej festival. Mawa gujiya is a sweet snack which is made in many festivals in Bihar and UP. It has Mawa and dryfruits filling inside with a covering of maida. It is very tasty and has awesome flavour. It's khasta texture makes it so delicious. The mawa used in this recipe is made at home. So do check out how these delicioius gujiya are made using homemade khoya. They are way better than the market and are very hygienic. ~Ingredients~
Makes 20 Gujiya
For dough
Maida or refined flour- 2 cups or about 400 g
Ghee- 4 tbsp
Water- 1/2 cup
Refined oil for frying
For filling
Mawa- about 200g made from 1 litre of toned milk
Powdered sugar- 1/2 cup
Dessicated Coconut- 1/2 cup
Chopped almonds- 1/2 cup
Chopped pista- few
Kishmish or raisins- few
Any other chopped dryfruits of your choice
Cardamom powder- 1/2 tsp
