The famed Four Pass Loop backpacking route within this wilderness area is an international treasure. The 26 mile circuit climbs over four mountain passes higher than 12,000ft, past clear alpine lakes and among the craggy Elk Range peaks.
My mom and sister have dabbled with backpacking, but this trip was their first major undertaking of the rugged terrain and high elevations of the Colorado Rockies. We packed up four days worth of food, booze, and gear and headed into the backcountry. ENJOY!! :)
