The #PeaceDayChallenge: Peace is possible. It takes action. It takes all of us.

The #PeaceDayChallenge: Peace is possible. It takes action. It takes all of us. The Peace Day Challenge exists to raise the profile of the International Day of Peace and to affirm peace as a real alternative to the violence we see every day in the news. It is all about inspiring a day of action on September 21, focused on building peace through real-life activities.

Be a part of the Peace Day Mosaic! Between now and Saturday, September 21, show how you’re doing your part for peace. Take an action for peace and submit a photo by sharing it on social media with the hashtag #PeaceDayChallenge, or by uploading it on our website. The photo you share will be used to create a mosaic of all the inspiring things we are doing together to create a more peaceful world.

The United States Institute of Peace is an independent national institute, founded by Congress and dedicated to the proposition that a world without violent conflict is possible, practical, and essential for U.S. and global security. USIP pursues this vision on the ground in conflict zones, working with local partners to prevent conflicts from turning to bloodshed and to end it when they do. The Institute provides training, analysis, and other resources to people, organizations, and governments working to build peace.
