Members of the St. Lucia Calypso Association will make another attempt at resuscitating the comatose organization. The group plans to meet this weekend to discuss a number of issues
affecting the organization and the calypso art form with a view to identifying long term solutions.
A few persons who have been involved with the St. Lucia Calypso Association in the past have
decided to come together and explore the possibility of reviving the Association, but if they are
going to do this, how will it be done? Long time Association member Caron Tobiere says a meeting
scheduled for Saturday will determine the way forward.
Miss Tobiere says the aim of the meeting is to examine some of the longstanding issues that have
been plaguing calypso and come up with long term answers to address those and move the
organization and art form forward.
Miss Tobiere is optimistic that the meeting will end with agreement on a strategy to guide the gowth
and development of Calypso
