1968 DODGE DART GT CONVETIBLE - THE SNAPPY GT MUSCLE DART

1968 DODGE DART GT CONVETIBLE - THE SNAPPY GT MUSCLE DART The Dodge Dart had been around for a few years and for 1968 there were four Dart models. Starting with the Model DLL Dart, then the DLH Dart, The Dart GT as this one is seen, and the ultimate Dart GTS. The Dart GT was created in 1962 and always came in either a hardtop coupe or convertible coupe. There were a total of 26,280 GT's sold this year in both forms. Forget having a 6 cylinder under the hood of a GT even though that was available. If you wanted a snappy GT, you'd have a V8 engine under the hood which came in a 273 with 190 hp., or a 318 with 230 hp. Since this GT weighs 2,970 lbs. having either V8 gives it this snappy performance. The GT convertible had a base price of $ 2,959 and like the other Darts, except the GTS model, rode on a 111 inch wheelbase. All Dodge muscle cars had racing stripes wrapped around the rear quarter panels and over the trunk lid. This GT has some upgrades including a rally steering wheel and B&M shifter, and of course mag wheels. I find this example as close to a factory fresh Dart and a favorite of Mopar fans. Thanks for viewing.
