Upon asking VW Canada about the expected delivery dates of the newly announced 8th generation Golf, they supplied the following details:
"In Canada we will have a full MY2020 Golf and GTI, and at least a partial MY2021 Golf and GTI in the current (7th) generation. Deliveries of the MKVIII Golf/GTI/R will commence in 2021 as MY2022 vehicles."
