Jawa Perak Highlights Jawa has finally announced the launch date for its factory custom bobber - the Perak. The bike is slated to be launched on November 15 and is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 1.89 lakh (all ex-showroom Delhi).
The Perak features an all-black paint scheme and a redesigned rear end, a single tan seat, low-set handlebars with bar-end mirrors and round tail light that’s neatly placed under the seat. Powering the motorcycle is a bigger 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder mill that produces 30PS and 31Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed transmission. It even gets a custom exhaust.
The bike uses the same double cradle frame and conventional telescopic fork as the Jawa and 42. However, it gets a 'swing cage' swingarm (like the Triumph Bonneville Bobber) to accommodate the monoshock at the rear. Also, unlike its siblings, the Perak uses disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS and slightly fatter Pirelli tyres. While it doesn’t have a direct rival, the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X comes pretty close.
