Lost and Found Nutley. The photographs of N.F. Carryl

Lost and Found Nutley. The photographs of N.F. Carryl On September 15th 2019 a joint presentation by The Nutley Historical society and Town Historian John Demmer was given to a packed museum crowd. The presentation was on the recently scanned glass plate images taken by N.F. Carryl that spanned from approximately 1890 to 1899. These Nutley images are part of the most beautiful and interesting single private collection captured on glass plate. The story of their creation, disappearance and rediscovery is a fascinating one. Its been almost 50 years since their re appearance in a Newark junk shop and only recently has technology advanced enough to allow for the easy retrieval of these one of a kind images. On behalf of the Nutley Historical Society and myself, I hope you enjoy this presentation to its fullest and that the images stir your imagination of a time gone by - John Demmer, Town Historian, Nutley NJ
