Are you nervous about an upcoming site visit? Feeling the pressure knowing that you could face up to ten different interviews? The best way to relieve some of that pressure is to arrive prepared.
Here are 3 tips to get you started:

1. Do your research before you arrive, learning as you can about the company and its people. Focus on the recent big-picture things happening at the company: new product launches, mergers and restructuring. Know why the position you’re interviewing for is available.

2. Be prepared to ask business-oriented questions during the interview about concepts like corporate goals, company culture, and career trajectory. You are valuable as a PhD - make the company sell themselves to you, and convince you to work for them.

3. Enjoy yourself, but know that at a site visit, you’re always “on.” Be personable in each interaction, and stay calm during times of stress. Listen intently and connect back to examples of how you’ve overcome challenges to achieve results.

Always remember your value as a PhD. You deserve to be paid well for meaningful work! For more information, visit:
