Speaking indigenous languages in contemporary Nigeria - Yetunde Ayeni Babaeko It is estimated that over 400 languages are spoken in Nigeria with major languages which includes Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Fulfulde, Kanuri and Ibibio.

But sadly, it seems this generation of young Nigerians are well on their way to losing their command of traditional languages. It is quite common to see young Nigerians who cannot have a simple conversation in their mother tongue. Joining us to discuss this and more is Yetunde Ayeni Babaeko founder Nalingo Naija an outfit which targets younger generations and Nigerians in Diaspora that struggle to keep the Yorùbá language in their households alive.
