Show notes:
I use something I call The Focus Triangle to get focused and enter into a state of flow quickly. It's comprised of three parts:
• ▲ Device
• ▲ Location
• ▲ Time
When you associate an activity with any one side of the triangle, it becomes easier to get into the zone. But where it's really powerful is when you combine all three.
For example:
• "At 6:00 A.M., I will write on my iPad in the beanbag in my home office."
• "At 8:00 A.M., I will do client work on my laptop at the coffee shop."
• "At 6:00 P.M., I will respond to comments on my phone in the living room."
Mix and match Device, Location, and Time to create combinations that make it easier to enter into focused mode. Strengthening associations with Device, Location, and Time is especially helpful for activities where you typically experience resistance or seek distractions.
