Program Overview Open and laparoscopic surgical procedures are now being done robotically with positive outcomes; even hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy is being combined with robotic surgery. Enhanced recovery after surgery has been used in conjunction with robotic surgery to improve the quality of surgical patient care. The unexpected outcome of enhanced recovery after surgery has seen a reduction in hospital length of stay, a decrease in hospital costs, and increased patient satisfaction.
