Assam BJP holds silent march in Jagiroad; party totally against violence, says Himanta Biswa Sarma The Assam BJP on Friday organised a silent rally in Jagiroad for peace and development in the state.
Addressing BJP supporters before the silent march, state finance and health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma escalated his attack on the Congress over the issue of #CitizenshipAmendmentAct.
Sarma targetted former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Assam chief minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta alleging that both the leaders had first made changes to the Citizenship Bill.
The health and finance minister also took potshots at former chief minister Tarun Gogoi.
Batting for peace Himanta Biswa Sarma said that his party is totally against violence. Expressing his views on series of anti-CAA agitations, Sarma said that the government welcomes all forms of democratic protests.
