Beijing on Thursday voiced firm opposition against a recent U.S. defense act that places restrictions on Chinese enterprises. The U.S. 2020 National Defense Authorization Act prohibits the purchase of certain Chinese goods, including drones, rail cars, and buses. The provision also restricts telecommunications giant Huawei's operations, and makes it more difficult for them to get off the U.S. "Entity List". The act comes as China and the U.S. are in close touch on the signing a phase one trade deal. In a news briefing Thursday, spokesperson Gao Feng says China will take all necessary measures to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.
