Blue radio had real impressive reception

Blue radio had real impressive reception In its day it was a good radio, it had ceramic filters that you would find in bigger radios, afew stages, it had much better selectivity than many other radios of the time, it is more of problem now. It would pick up stereo on a weak signal, a lot of people complained about the hiss, now its impossible to find one that dosen't blend a stereo signal to mono. It had fairly few images, but could be mis aligned easily leading to images across the band, coils where only held in place with a small amount of wax, the little trimming capacitors could easily be knocked, I aligned it here so it works good!

The headphones jack was usually the first thing to break on them, I had both the gold one and the blue one, believe on this one something around the headphones broke, (something to do with how the aerial was coupled to the headphones wire) so alittle black wire had to be attached and cliped round the headphones wire to act as an aerial. On my other gold one a simliar thing happened but something more serious was wrong with it!, you could only get very low audio out of it. It shows even just a few years ago it was still quite an impressive radio, with it picking up most everything.

I've had this video for a while but haven't published it, so it dosen't show up as new on my channel, it should of been published at the start. It will be nice to get these finally published..
