PG Wodehouse made almost 40 transatlantic sailings between 1904 and 1939. A specially written imaginary conversation takes place between aficionado James Naughtie and Wodehouse (played by Sebastian Faulks). This covers the evolution of his writing skills from journalism and light verse to the creation of Jeeves and Wooster and he has the reputation as the greatest humourous writer of English in the 20th century. This show aboard Queen Mary 2 (as part of the Cheltenham Literary Festival) included several of his 200 lyrics from early 20th century American musical comedies sung by siblings Hal and Lara Cazalet and Gina Bellman as well as readings by RADA.
