How to fix leaking stop lights in Peugeot Partner (Citroen Berlingo; 2001-2010)

How to fix leaking stop lights in Peugeot Partner (Citroen Berlingo; 2001-2010) Very simple and cheap fix to leaking tail (stop) lights, nearly as good as manufacturers' design. If you have the same problem, do not leave it as it is. Eventually the contacts will rust and short somewhere, potentially leading to blown bulbs, fuses, etc.

My rear (back) stop or tail lights were full of water. Maybe my blinker fluid just needed replacing ;-). Nevrtheless, the bottom bulb contacts were already started to gather rust. It was only a matter of time. These were quite expensive to replace, so I decided to check how to fix the leak. It turns out that whoever last change my rear light bulbs basically broke all the plastic pins that hold the rear light cluster to the car. This makes a flimsy contact between the rubber seals and the body of the car and this allows water to leak inside the rear lights cluster.
This video is how to fix this, pretty professionally. This comprises filing the remaining plastic tabs and creating a new clip for the cluster to hold onto the body of the car. The car is a Peugeot Partner (2007), same as a Citroen Berlingo. I suspect quite a few manufacturers are using similar plastic clips.

There are four options. 1) drill a hole at the bottom of the unit for water to drain, but there will always be humidity in there, so that is not quite good. 2) double the seal with a weather strip, but potentially water can still go in the unit. 3) file the plastic tabs (my preferred one), so to create the same hook as the original one. 4) silicone the seals to the body of the car, but if a bulb blows it will be rather difficult to remove.
