That will recall, then this is a great exercise, all I'm going to do is roll the treat away from Reggie, then say his name, so as he picks up the treat and comes straight back to me to get a reward and then I'm going to repeat it many times over.

Speaker 1: 00:45 once they start to get the hang of it, it gives you a way of getting as many repetitions as you possibly can in a short space of time to get the puppy in a position where it's natural to come back to you when you call it, Reggie,

It's going to be critical, Reggie, that we thought Paul then comes back to us every single time we call it. Also by doing this exercise, you're going to find that the puppy is going to start. You just want to be with you all ready. Associating words with behaviors is really key when you're trying to put me. The more you can associate the things that you do want with words, the more the puppy can do it when you want him to do it.

Speaker 1: 02:47 there's a dead simple exercise that anyone can do. You can do this with a young dog, you can do a puppy or you can make them an older dog. All it's doing is booting of repetitions to get the puppy or the older in a position where you can get it to leave you come back every single time you ask it. You won't stop and no distraction environments and then gradually build up the levels of distraction until the dog's in a position of a comeback regardless of what's going on.
