Kobe Bryant death: NTSB, authorities provide update into helicopter crash Officials with the National Transportation Safety Board and the LA County Sheriff's Office provided an update in the investigation into a helicopter crash that killed NBA superstar Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and seven others.

The NTSB called the crash a "high energy impact," based on the descent rate of the helicopter. They said the helicopter did not have a terrain awareness warning system and missed clearing the top of the hill by 20 to 30 feet.

The L.A. County Sheriff's Office also confirmed the identities of at least four of those killed, including Bryant, after the information was released by the coroner.

Officials said the investigation is still ongoing and they are trying to determine how the crash occurred.
