Karen Matthews, the mother who notoriously faked her daughter Shannon's abduction back in 2008, has just got engaged. Her husband-to-be reportedly knows about her past, but isn't bothered by it. This sparks the question, should you police check your partner? Legislation called 'Clare's Law' and 'Sarah's Law' has been rolled out across the country, allowing people to deal with the police to find out whether anyone they are close to may pose a threat to themselves or their children, but does it go far enough?
