At the 1993 Paris Air Show, the Airbus A319 was officially announced, while the International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) already ordered 6 copies in 1992. Air Inter also ordered 6 copies in February 1994. While the engines remain the same as well as the capacity of the kerosene tank, its carrying capacity is defined at 124 passengers, for 2 classes, and 156 passengers for a single class. However, the radius has also been modified, by being increased to 3,740 NM, or 6,926.48 km.
The Airbus A319 flew for the first time on August 25, 19954, on its first flight to Hamburg, when more than 500 copies have already been ordered. Certified in 1996, Swissair put the aircraft into service on 25 April 1996. Built in Hamburg, 1,522 units were built, 1,485 ordered, of which 1,045 were in service.
The Airbus A319 is used for presidential transport in Brazil. However, copies have been sold to other governments, those of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, but also to the Turkish Air Force and the Malaysian Air Force .
According to the International Aeronautical Federation (FAI), the Airbus A319 has never exceeded 954 km / h.
