Monday morning, White House spokesman Hogan Gidley (which we at Political Tribune are still not certain is a real name) was forced to acknowledge that Donald Trump and Russian Premier Vladimir Putin spoke by telephone on Sunday, after the Kremlin read out a transcript of the call that Washington may or may not have wanted to keep secret. The statement provided by the Kremlin was generic if nothing else:
Vladimir Putin thanked Donald Trump for the information shared via the special services that helped prevent terrorist acts in Russia. Several matters of mutual interest were discussed. An agreement was made to continue bilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism.”
