#Youtube #Startingachannel #YoutubeAdvice Hey loves, in today’s video I gave advice to any new Youtubers or people thinking about starting a YouTube channel. I started my YouTube channel as way to meet new people and get myself out into the social media world. Now that I have gotten more comfortable with the platform I want to actually use it as a business opportunity to help grow my brand. YouTube can be used as a business opportunity or to just do for fun. I created my YouTube channel in February of 2012 which I used to just support others such as big natural hair Youtubers which inspired me during the beginning of my natural hair journey.
I end up meeting my ex and starting doing Vlogs with him and unfortunately things did not work out so I rebranded my channel and begin to record my own content. I begin networking and meeting people that I still have good relationships with. Some people just want to support and that is fine I started out the same way until I felt comfortable enough to start making videos.
It will not be easy starting out it takes time to grow your channel. Supporting is key you have to give it in order to receive it. Getting to 1k followers was the hardest because sometimes YouTube purges which may put you below your 1k followers. In other cases some people may unfollow you for no reason. Don’t be discouraged because there are a lot of people on the YouTube platform that you can meet and will genuinely support you and end up liking your channel and content. Choosing a niche is also important because you want to be passionate about what you are going to post to your channel.
Recording
If you are shy to get in front of the camera you can practice recording yourself until you feel comfortable with being in front of the camera. You can also just make videos that don’t show your face depending on what kind of video it is. Some use their phones to record and others use their cameras to do so. Me personally I use my IPhone 11 which has great quality. iPhones are the best and can be used for editing as well. You can use the IMovie or Kinmaster apps for editing. Thumbnails can be created on Canva or Phonto which are also apps. Canva has a website too.
Criticism and Growth
Be prepared for negative criticism from some people who may even dislike a video but don’t let it bring them down it is a view and watch time. People will dislike whether you make a positive or negative video.
Do not compare your journey to others everyone’s journey and progression is different. Just focus on yourself and your channel.
If you would like to grow your following you can either do so organically by posting content of your interest whenever you get the chance because life gets busy. Another option is Networking streams such as Tree Trimmer82, Island Life Fishing, Tr Nyerere X, Ralphs Trucking, and Carolina Hillbilly are great for meeting new people.
