Arunachal Pradesh attained its statehood on 20th February 1987 and became the 25th state of the union of India, with Itanagar as its capital.

Agriculture is the mainstay of the people of Arunachal Pradesh and is mainly depended on jhum cultivation. Some of the important festivals of the state are Mopin, Solung, Lossar, Boori-boot and so on.
