Since we cut Theo's hair, he's changing right before our eyes. It's a good thing that we are witnessing somewhat of a bloom effect happening in our almost 7 year old son. What's difficult is that we have to make a conscious shift in how we communicate, spend time and show affection with him. It's all a learning process... one of the things that I wanted to do was to engrave his name in a brush, I would have gave him my own but because I have 4 kids I thought it might be unfair to give it to Theo when Uriah is so close in age.
One thing that I know to be true is that every black man needs that "Good Ol' Brush," the one that he takes everywhere he goes. He doesn't share it. It smells like him, and he appreciates it because before every dance, party, interview, photo, etc, he anoints himself with the bristles, to further usher in his fresh.
