Hong Kong government assures residents there is adequate supply of face masks On Jan 30, the death toll in China from the fast-spreading Wuhan coronavirus jumped to 170. The total number of confirmed cases on the mainland stood at more than 7,700. In Hong Kong, which is a mere five-hour high-speed rail ride from Wuhan, residents have rushed to buy remaining stocks of face masks. The Hong Kong government has assured locals that there will be adequate supply of masks. Eight million masks are expected to be available over the coming days, and millions more will be shipped to the city.
