When HFD responded to the scene a little after 9:30am they found the driver of a white Volkswagen unresponsive which they believe could have been caused by a medical condition. The vehicle was traveling on 15th St. when it sheared a utility pole at Layfayette Court, carried it through the Turkey Hill lot, side swiped a vehicle at the pump, ripped out a street sign, jumped a 2 foot median and hit the side of a van that was at the light on Alter St. The driver of the van said she felt dizzy but otherwise was ok. The driver of the Volkswagen was taken to the hospital. The owner of the vehicle at the pump explains in the video what he saw and heard and said he felt lucky to be alive.
