Syrian TV showed footage of what it said were residents responding to U.S. troops with machine guns as well as a man facing American soldiers asking them to leave the village of Kherbat Amo. Syria's state news agency SANA said one civilian was killed and another wounded when U.S. forces opened fire on people after their vehicles were stopped at a checkpoint east of Qamishli, Syria on Wednesday. The U.S.-led coalition fighting Islamic State militants said its troops opened fire after they came under small arms fire.
