WATCH: Democrats chant 'HR 3,' drug costs act that died in Senate | 2020 State of the Union President Trump boasted of taking on big pharmaceutical companies, saying he approved a record-number of generic affordable drugs, and brought down the cost of prescription drugs. After noting that by working together, Congress could work to get something on drug pricing done “quickly and properly." “Get a bill on my desk and I will sign it immediately,” the president said. This statement was met by vocal pushback from Democrats who began changing “HR 3,” referring to the lower drug costs act that died in the GOP-controlled Senate.

President Trump delivered his third annual State of the Union address on Tuesday, Feb. 4. The speech came the day before he is expected to be acquitted of articles of impeachment in the Senate and a day after voting in the 2020 presidential nomination process kicked off in Iowa.
