Baking Potatoes in Rural China (in the ground!)

Baking Potatoes in Rural China (in the ground!) My husband built me a Chinese oven, and we baked potatoes, sweet potatoes and eggs! I have seen this ovens before while walking around in the mountain here, but we've never made one ourselves. It's an outdoor kind of oven, where you first heat up pieces of soil, and then seal them and whatever you are cooking in a whole that you've dug out. Such an interesting way to cook!

Unfortunately not all of our potatoes were cooked through, since we let the fire get to small before we out them in. But we've learnt our lesson!
