Greek police had to push dozens of migrants back to Moria camp on Lesbos on Tuesday, as crowds gathered around Mytilene amid rumours of a ferry that would take them to the mainland.
Footage shows Greek police officers and riot police chasing migrants in parks and nearby streets in an effort to move them from the port area.
Previously, hundreds of migrants left Moria camp for Mytilene amid rumours that a ferry docked in its port will take some off Lesbos to mainland Greece or will be used as temporary camp to stay overnight for families with kids.
Dozens of migrants, most of whom had arrived over the weekend, have spent the whole day in buses parked at the port while other refugees tried to contact them from the other side of a fence.
Late last week, the government of Turkey decided to open its borders, declaring they would no longer stop and keep migrants from entering the European Union through Greece.
