Can you imagine a place where justice reigns? A place where our fellow man is compelled to serve one another in genuine love. A place where evil surrenders or is conquered never to return again. In my first novel My Secret Place, two men venture to the south to secure a new identity for themselves. In doing so, they find it essential to their survival to create such a place. It begins in New York during the early 1900's, this humorous and inspirational novel redefines the acts of courage and long suffering throughout Jonathan's and Nathan’s journey into adulthood. The intelligent and awkward Jonathan struggles with his insecurities in regards to his burden with scoliosis. Nathan’s genuine attributes leads to his success and the ability to relate to the opposite sex unlike Jonathan. Both are raised together with the misconception that Nathan was orphaned and adopted by Jonathan's family. The brothers develop a resilient bond that connects the two well into adulthood. After the death of their mother the truth begins to unfold to reveal their true identity. Nathan begins his quest to obtain autonomy and Jonathan unites with Nathan in his pursuit of a better life. Jonathan’s loyalty to Nathan outweighs his commitment to his father but he does not know the reason why. The two settle in the south and soon they become aware of a barbaric form of human bondage that they had never witnessed before. Jonathan and Nathan find themselves entangled with the enemy of injustice once again but with an unimaginable intensity this time. They both become engaged in the most horrific experiences of their lives. It is during this time they recognize the power a Secret Place.
