What NMN & NR Human Studies and Clinical Trials are out there in 2020? NMN & NR are currently the wonder supplements in the anti aging world, but what evidence do they have and are they just another disappointment? Here are the links to the studies I reference:
NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide) & NR (Nicotinamide Riboside) are making headlines in the anti aging world.
This is in no small part due to researchers such as Dr David Sinclair.
There are a group of proteins in our bodies called Sirtuins, and Sirtuins are epic molecules.
They can reverse DNA damage, lengthen your telomeres at the ends of your chromosomes, and reduce your overall levels of inflammation.
Epic right?
The trouble is, Sirtuins need "fuel" to be activated, and as Dr David Sinclair explains, that fuel is NAD+
The trouble is, as we age our NAD+ levels reduce, so our Sirtuins don't have enough fuel to activate.
This is a leading theory as to why we age.
But we can't just take NAD+ supplements because our body can absorb it.
NAD+ supplements just go straight through us, and that's where NMN & NR come into the equation.
NMN & NR can be absorbed by our bodies, then get transformed into NAD+ within our cells.
This way we can boose out NAD+ levels.
NMN & NR has been proven to do this in the lab and mice studies, but what do human studies show?
Do human clinical trials back up what we've seen in the lab?
This video explores all the latest human studies on NMN & NR
As a side note, here's all the supplements I currently take:
• TRANS-RESVERATROL:
1 gram in the morning with yogurt.
• SULFORAPHANE:
30 grams of broccoli sprouts in the morning at home.
20-30mg of glucoraphanin & myrosinase supplement on holidays
• METFORMIN:
1 gram at night only on rest days
Prescription medication
When I reach 30 years old, I plan to also use these:
• NICOTINAMIDE MONONUCLEOTIDE (NMN)
1 gram in the morning
• METHYL-B12
• METHYL-FOLATE
