On Thursday, July 25, 2019, the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, Subcommittee on Technology Modernization will hold an oversight hearing entitled “VistA Transition: Assessing the Future of an Electronic Health Records Pioneer.” The purpose of the hearing is to assess how the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is planning for the transition, sustainment, and possible eventual decommissioning of the Veterans Health Information System and Technology Architecture (VistA) over the next decade as VA implements a commercial electronic health record system.
