Purity - Free from contamination.
Contamination - “The presence of a constituent, impurity, or some other undesirable element (trauma, event, or circumstance) that soils, corrupts, infects, makes unfit, or makes inferior a material, physical body, natural environment, workplace, etc.” There are many things that can contaminate a person; food, environment, relationships, pornography, music, thoughts, and so much more.
When you become contaminated, SIN enters into your life. Contamination affects four areas - Mind, Body, Soul & Spirit.
Whatever contaminates you awakens your conscience to sin. Your mind must be renewed. Romans 12:2 NLT “Do not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
We must fist identity whats contaminating us in our life- identify what makes me inferior or unfit. What has caused me to become dirty/stained.
1. Contamination affects the mind - It causes you to justify the sin and do it again. You delight in it and indulge more. Feeling of Guilt, shame, & worthlessness creep in. Deception.
2. Contamination affects the body - it weakens/slows the body down. The devil will tell you it’s okay to indulge in some sin. A little leaven, leaveneth the whole lump. The flesh is weak but the spirit is willing. Pray that God will help you resist the devil and FLEE from all temptation.
Psalm 51:7-11 NLT “Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me— now let me rejoice. Don’t keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.”
3. Contamination affects the soul - Genesis 2:7 “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Without a soul we would not be living and functioning bodies.
Our soul lives among culture, history, science. Why gain the whole world and lose your soul? Why forfeit my relationship with God for what the world has to offer. Contamination/Sin Confuses the soul.

4. Contamination affects the spirit - Sin separates you from God. When I commune with God I feed my spirit. Contamination keeps you from having joy, being free, having a clear mind. We must pray this prayer of David in our journey of purity; Psalm 86:11-13 NLT ““Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you. With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever, for your love for me is very great. You have rescued me from the depths of death.”
