Bio Caribe Container House in Puerto Viejo Limón, Costa Rica. In this video, we bring you an off the grid” ecological residence built with shipping containers at Bio Caribe, Costa Rica. This off the grid” ecological residence located on Property #14 is part of the larger community housing project at Bio Caribe, Costa Rica siting on 125 hectares of land. This Property #14 is called “Papaya”. The property occupies 1ha plot on the larger scheme. On Property #14 is built the first shipping container home at Bio Caribe. This house was built whit emphasis on sustainability and ecological design from the onset. This one bedroom, I bathroom house is built with two 40 foot refrigerated shipping containers creating a total of 64 square feet of living space plus other additional spaces. The containers are stacked atop each other arranged in an L-shaped layout, with one end of top container cantilevered on concrete piers forming a sheltered canopy fronting a big open courtyard space. On the ground floor, the house accommodates a large open living room with a lounge space, dining area and spacious kitchen, plus a visitor’s bathroom. There is also a pergola for outdoor living at the intersection of the two containers facing the courtyard, and covered canopy under the cantilevered container. Upstairs, the house accommodates a spacious bedroom and a stylish bathroom. Eternal wooden doors open onto a generous deck above the container roofs. #BioCaribe #ContainerHouse #LimónCostaRica
