Whatever chance there ever was that the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses would seriously reexamine the scriptural basis for door to door ministry, Ray Franz gave up hope that the Watchtower could ever repent of its traditional policy after that Governing Body meeting. His Uncle Fred -- the "oracle" of the Organization for at least 2 generations, and the principal translator of the Watchtower Bible -- was not going to back down from HIS translation choice for Acts 5:42 and 20:20. "House to house" MEANT door to door. As far as Fred Franz was concerned there would be no serious challenge to his personal authority. Apparently, the other Governing Body members were content to leave it there -- even if they had to laugh at Fred's rationalization.
